Prof Edward Gatt

Edward Gatt received the B. Eng. (Hons) on November 1993 from the University of Malta. Between 1993 and 1994 he was employed as a Systems Engineer with Megabyte Ltd. In 1995 he was appointed as an academic member of the Department of Microelectronics in the Faculty of Engineering. Currently, he occupies the post of Associate Professor in the Department of Microelectronics and Nanoelectronics within the Faculty of ICT. He is also the Head of the Department. On November 1998 he obtained an M. Phil. (Microelectronics) from the University of Malta in Analogue VLSI Neural Networks for Vowel Recognition. On January 2005 he obtained a Ph. D. from the University of Surrey in Analogue VLSI Neural Networks for Phoneme Recognition. His research interests are Analogue and Digital VLSI, Speech Signal Processing and Neural Networks.
